AIA stated, “This high-tech version of the condominium model was cited by the jury for its systematic and rather assertive development. Its images and character are clear and it includes well organized and livable rooms both inside and outside.”
Ruth Shari, one of commissioners, wrote: "… the commission designated the Sun-Tech Townhomes under criteria 1,2, 4 and 6 (4 out of 6). In many cases landmarks only qualify under 3 criteria. And a mere one criterion is sufficient. Our decision to designate was unanimous, with 5 of 7 commissioners present.”
Carol Lemlein, President, wrote, “For recognizing the architectural value of the unique urban townhouse complex and seeking landmark designation and a Mills Act Contract to ensure its preservation for decades to come.”
